Wusatoumuduk: We Make It Burn

In Collaboration

Wusatoumuduk is a new multi-media play set in present day Humboldt County, CA about cultural fire. It is written by a local inter-tribal group with direct connections to efforts to restore “good fire” to the landscape and produced by Co-Artistic Directors Michelle Hernandez and Zuzka Sabata in partnership with the Wiyot Tribe and Ink People Center for Arts and Culture.

The project development team, of which I have been part for the last two years, is now preparing for an outdoor tour in the fall of 2026 to at least 10 local parks in Eureka and surrounding communities to present this play for free to our community with support from Arts in California Parks.

All performances will be free and outdoors in local parks.
